Kedah Entertainment

The Langkawi underwater world at Pantai Cenang houses over 500 species of fish and other creatures in more than 100 tanks. The 15m long clear glass walk-through is guaranteed to keep both kids and adults entertained as is the unusual hexagonal tank.
Langkawi Underwater World has been successfully operating since 1995 and is now one of the largest aquariums in SE Asia for both pelagic marine and fresh water species.
The Langkawi Underwater World opens earlier at 9.30am until 6.30pm during public and school holidays.

Kedah And Langkawi Entertainment

When looking for the Kedah entertainment capital all ferries, yachts and planes understandably head to Langkawi, after all this is one of the most beautiful islands in SE Asia.
Once you arrive you are spoiled for choice with the various forms of Langkawi entertainment available in this all year round tropical paradise that is known as the Jewel of Kedah.
Many people start touring the white sandy beaches or take a sailing trip around the many wondrous islands Langkawi has to offer.
Travellers are often intrigued by the history of Langkawi and the legends that surround it such as Mahsuri's curse over the island before she was unjustly executed for adultery, the curse was set to last 7 generations.
At the Mahsuri mausoleum which is located within the rebuilt Kota Mahsuri Complex in Ulu Melaka there is a museum, a Mek Mulung traditional theatre auditorium and a traditional house from her era hundreds of years ago. This heritage highlight gives a fascinating insight into Langkawi life during Mahsuris' days.
If camping or an afternoon picnic interests you then you could try a beautiful highland area by the name of Peranginan Bukit Hijau in the forest of Gunung Inas near Baling. This retreat is very popular for its breathtaking seven-level waterfalls which gather into seven pools.
In Kedah, Langkawi does not have a complete monopoly on beautiful beaches as Pantai Merdeka just 25km outside Sungai Petani is a 1km glistening white sandy beach that rivals many that the legendary island is famous for.
Langkawi International Water Festival is a fun event that takes place annually at the Cenang Beach area, it involves various water and beach sports and activities including kayaking, boat races, swimming, beach football and beach sumo just to name a few. It is a thoroughly enjoyable event held over the course of 3 days.

Langkawi Crocodile Farm

The Langkawi Crocodile Farm is another Kedah entertainment tourist spot. There is a species pond where as the name suggest many different species of crocodile and alligator reside, there is also the feeding pond and the breeding pond.
The man versus reptile wrestling exhibition was the highlight of this tour where thankfully the staff were not requesting volunteers from the audience!
