Restoran Insaf Location Map

Indeed it could be described that Restoran Insaf requires a lick of paint to satisfy the whims of the Kuala Lumpur city slickers who equate a fine dining environment to a lifestyle statement of their personal materialistic needs. I strongly disagree.
In this age of restaurant makeovers on TV convincing us that an eaterie cannot be successful without the personal touch of the latest interior designer weaving their fabricated magic it is easy for the average consumer to get sucked into this way of thinking.
Restoran Insaf is a humble eaterie that just concentrates on good Pakistani muslim food and it is great that places like this are still thriving in a modern metropolis like KL.
During this visit to KL my wife was shopping in the local markets and was determined to dine at Restoran Insaf; There were eight of us dining and this is what we ordered:
7 Nasi Briyani - RM35.00
1 Nasi Putih Ayam - RM11.50
1 Curry Lamb Shank - RM25.00
1 Telur Ikan - RM18.00
The fried chicken was served with a flavoursome crispy skin that was perfect for introducing our taste buds to the succulent white meat inside.
The Fried Fish Eggs delivered a tasty combination that my fellow diners really enjoyed although I was less keen on this dish as I found it a bit too salty.
The Dhal curry sauce added some variety to the gustatory sensation offering a more mellow taste that suited the briyani rice very well.
The Cucumber Acar was steeped in a really tasty sweet sauce that enticed me to scour the table scooping up all the remains my fellow diners did not want. It was a hot and spicy sweet taste that I adore and I was surprised how good it was.
Insaf Restaurant have a good reputation for their Briyani Rice and we were not disappointed with our serving of fragrant rice that added a subtle depth to the accompanying dishes without dominating the taste sensation.
It's lean and tender meat dropped easily from the bone and the curry sauce was a delight to savour, especially when mixed in with the aromatic briyani rice.
1 Hot Tea - RM5.00
7 Cold Drinks - RM23.50
1 Syrup - RM3.00
Grand Total - RM157.00
Lamb Shank Curry
Restoran Insaf is located in an aging Kuala Lumpur commercial district that is colloquially known as Jalan Tar (short for Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman).
I really enjoyed dining in Restoran Insaf in Jalan Tar, we visited just before closing time and the staff were all very friendly and customer orientated despite being tired at the end of a long day.
