The Chicago Rib House Restaurant has improved an already great menu with some delicious new dishes and when combined with the great service their staff provide it looks like a winning gastronomic formula.
The Chicago Rib House new menu contains some interesting new dishes such as their Grilled Cod, Seafood Pasta, Grilled Salmon, 10oz Wagyu Ribeye Steak, Tortilla Salad and a Chocolate Mud Pie dessert amongst many others.
The accompanying mashed potato was made from real potatoes and tasted great and the broccoli added some nutritional balance to the meal.
The blackened seasoning on the dory gave a crisp texture to the fish and the gustatory sensation left a very pleasant after taste on the palate.
My friend chose the Blackened Catch which is a Chicago Ribs favourite and the catch of the day used was a Dory.
The baked potato added some substance to this meal and the broccoli tasted as if it was boiled in a sauce that greatly enhanced its taste.
The cod was grilled to perfection and the Scampi Butter sauce had an interesting sweet taste that blended well with the squeezed lemon and fish.
My grilled cod then arrived giving me an impression I was in a restaurant with an inspired haute cuisine chef serving small but artful parcels of food.
There was a savoury sweet and hot gustatory sensation on the prawns that was as delicately balanced as it was exquisite in its taste. This was very very good.
Next up was the nicest dish of the meal the Shrimp Cocktail. Served in a large glass packed full of scrumptious looking prawns and salad this actually tasted better than it looked which was quite an achievement as its presentation was fantastic.
Our first starter was the Baked Potato Skins in melted cheese and this is a dish I can never get enough of.
The mushroom soups arrived in very small bowls (my cup of tea was larger!) but it was free so I cannot complain.
For each entree we ordered we got 1 complimentary mushroom soup, free flow selected soft drinks and we could also order two side dishes of our own choosing.
After glancing through the menu I asked the helpful waiter what he would recommend from the new menu and without hesitation he said the Grilled Cod in Scampi Butter Sauce.
However on our arrival we discovered that the Chicago Rib House restaurant were introducing their new menu on the very day we decided to dine there. There was a 30 minute wait for an inside table as it was very busy due to the presence of the press so we decided to dine outside.
I was salivating over the thought of the delicious beef ribs served at Restoran Chicago Rib House as I made my way to Gurney Plaza to meet a friend for dinner and then the cinema.

I was torn because I set my heart on the Beef Ribs but I chose the grilled cod because of the recommendation.

There is something about the taste combination of a baked potato skin and melted cheese that I find irresistible and the Chicago Ribs version proved highly satisfactory.
it tasted quite good just like a home made soup which is an improvement on many restaurants that just use canned soups.
However it is difficult to make culinary art with a baked potato and broccoli and it was not a small portion but just a large plate making it appear that way.
This was a very good dish that I  would recommend to any prospective Chicago Ribs diners.
They still maintain their favourite ribs and steak menu and some of these new dishes look positively mouth watering.
