Kapitan Restaurant is a nasi kandar style eaterie that is very popular with the food lovers of Penang.
Wi-Fi is available and Kapitan is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Kapitan Restaurant is situated in ground floor shoplots opposite the TGI Fridays entrance to Queensbay Mall.
Kapitan restaurant has a presence on Penang island in the Queensbay area, on Chulia St in Georgetown and by Gurney Hotel on Gurney Drive, the outlet I visited for this review is the Queensbay restaurant.
To drink I imbibed the tasty Mint Tea (hot).
The Chicken Tikka meat that has been tenderly cooked is soft, boneless and a perfect accompaniment to the Masala sauce, it is as close to culinary art as one could expect from a curry sauce.
Then there is the Chicken Tikka Masala, the masala sauce is an absolute delight to savour, a spicy mix with a little heat mixed with yoghurt, this is a taste to salivate even the most discernable taste buds.
The Briyani Rice was a typical Kapitan rice speciality, firm and tasty without being overwhelming, just as good rice should be.
I ordered this dish with the accompaniments of Briyani Rice and Cheese Garlic Naan Bread.
Before I start this review I have a confession to make, Kapitan restaurant is a Penang eaterie I visit all the time because the food is so fantastic. 3 dishes in particular I am very fond of in this gastronomic establishment and one of them is the subject of this review - Chicken Tikka Masala.

The Naan Breads in Kapitan are simply delicious (as are the Tandoori Chicken, Kebabs and Chicken Vindaloo, but they are other reviews altogether), the crispy edges of the bread belies the delicate and soft fresh dough centre and the covering of melted Cheese and Garlic totally enhance the fantastic taste of this Naan Bread.
The same menu is available in their Chulia Street outlet (by Little India) although I have not yet visited the Gurney outlet I think the same menu should be available there as well.
