Eating at Victoria Station Restaurant was a spur of the moment decision, I was visiting an office in Seberang Jaya with my wife and upon leaving it was raining very heavily, so rather than getting soaking wet going to the car we opted to eat and came across Victoria Station Restaurant in the process. I felt in the mood for a steak restaurant so it was an easy choice to make.
As the name suggests Victoria Stations' theme is rail trains, I have eaten at one of their outlets before but never the Seberang Jaya (Perai) one, this outlet is very similar to the one on Penang Island.
There is a main restaurant area and a railcar dining area, we opted to eat in the railcar which is quite cool. For starters we chose the Mushroom Soup and the Crispy Potato Skins.
The Mushroom soup was quite nice without being exceptional, it had some chunky pieces of mushroom in it but the flavour could do with a bit more ooomph!
For the main meal we chose the Braised Lamb Shank and the Cheesy Mushroom Steak. I had the steak cooked 'well done' and it was topped off with a highly satisfactory and flavoursome cheesy mushroom sauce, top marks to that chef, I was impressed!
The Lamb Shank must have come from a rather large Lamb as it was quite a size, it nearly covered the plate! The meat was cooked well and quite tasty but the sauce lacked a certain something, it was more of a plain gravy and did nothing to enhance the taste of the meat.
Again the vegetables tasted fresh, firm and succulent, but the mashed potato was the highlight of this dish. The chef had used cheese to mash the potatoes and it left a wonderful taste and texture that I would highly recommend over the French Fries any time.
From previous visits to Victoria Station Restaurant outlets I knew they cooked great steaks and I was not disappointed again today as the Cheesy Mushroom Steak was simply scrumptious.
To drink we chose the Green Tea and the Brewed Coffee and the total cost of the meal was RM121.20
Victoria Station is a steak restaurant you can rely on to satisfy the needs of Penangs' hungry carnivores. This restaurant chain has stood the test of time because they deliver what they advertise, a good hearty meal inclusive of  a fine slab of meat. Today was no different.

The Crispy Potato Skins was basically a baked potato cut in half with melted cheese on top end with me being a keen consumer of baked potatoes I delighted in munching this down, superb fayre.

The vegetables were firm and succulent and the French Fries were on the large size which is good.
However I feel the Lamb Shank could be easily improved if the Chef worked on its accompanying sauce, the Crispy Potato Skins starter was also very tasty and something I would recommend to anyone.
