Selangor Shopping
The Curve Shopping Mall

The Curve shopping mall in Mutiara Damansara is billed as a total Selangor shopping and dining experience attracting shopaholics from far and wide.
The Curve is very strategically located, it is serviced by 5 major highways that are The North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP), Sprint Highway (Penchala Link), Damansara Perdana and Persiaran Surian.
The Curve shopping mall is supported by some A-Listed anchor tenants that are IKEA Home Furnishings, IKANO Power Centre and Tesco Hypermarket and is supplemented by its superb Fashion Mall and over 50 f & b outlets that offer some excellent al-fresco dining.
Other Selangor shopping malls of note are Ampang Plaza, Bukit raja Shopping centre, Klang Parade, Jaya Shopping centre, Plaza Shah Alam and Subang Parade, but this list is not exhaustive as there are many more malls and fantastic shopping experiences to be had in Selangor.
Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall
If looking for a 4,000 year old shopping experience you could try the Sunway Pyramid Shopping mall where a giant Lions head greets you at the entrance and facades adorned with Egyptian hieroglyphics guarded by Sphinxes lead to a giant pyramid shopping complex.

The added entertainment here is the ground floor ice rink (the only one inside a Malaysian shopping mall), a 10 screen cineplex, a world class exhibition and convention centre and 48 lanes of world class bowling that have seen the Commonwealth games, the Malaysian International Open Bowling Championships and the CGU Asian Bowling Tours hosted there.
The swaying palms in the aptly named Oasis Boulevard provides an al-fresco dining experience for the bargain hardened shopper to reinvigorate their shopaholic soul before returning to the Sunway Pyramid shopping mall to finally buy that little black number for the forthcoming Saturday night.
The Sunway Pyramid in some ways is the old kid on the block as it has been around since 1997, but 2007 saw an expansion taking it up to 800 outlets and the next expansion is planned to make it the largest shopping mall in all of Malaysia.
The Sunway Pyramid shopping mall has got all the brand name shops you could ever desire and at its current 1.7 million sq feet of retail space it is the second largest Selangor shopping mall.
The Mines Shopping Fair
A fine example of a Selangor shopping mall is The Mines Shopping Fair that is part of the Mines City Resort and derived its name from the fact it was built on the former location for the worlds largest open cast Tin mine.

Normally after shopping for hours on end you take a pitstop in Starbucks or Coffee Bean to re-vitalise, well The Mines Shopping Fair has a superior alternative to this with the opportunity for a mini cruise through a wonderfully designed canal inside the mall connecting the North and South lakes.
When you take the Mines City tour you can get to see the Golden Horses, Mines Resort and Golf Club, Mines Waterfront Business Park, Palace Beach and Spa, Mines Wonderland, Mines Shopping Fair (obviously), Malaysia International Exhibition and Convention Centre and the gardens as well as experiencing passing through a canal lock as both lakes are at different heights.
For entertainment The Mines Shopping Fair provides TGV Cinema, Bowling Centre, Karaoke and a combination of a children's playground and designated water play area with interactive features called Splash Park on the roof. In fact shoppers can enjoy a whole day out with the family at this mall and include a romantic canal side meal as well.
Now then, did I mention the actual shopping prospects of The Mines Shopping Fair? Don't worry, with over 200 retail outlets including all the top branded names you have just cruised into one of Selangors top shopping destinations.
1 Utama Shopping Mall
The title of Selangors largest shopping mall currently resides with the huge 1.85 million sq feet 1 Utama shopping mall in Bandar Utama. Again 1Utama has lots of attractions to give the weary of foot shopper a break while in between designer boutiques.
The attractions (or should that read distractions from shopping!) include a 13 screen cinema, a 36 lane bowling centre, Malaysias' largest indoor rock climbing centre called Camp 5, a Karaoke centre and the baseball batting cages on the roof called It's A Hit.
There is also the Promenade Lakeside where you can be taught how to scuba dive by professionals while the wife burns the plastic in 1 Utamas' famous fashion stores.
Next up a visit to the Rainforest (1 Utama style) that showcases over 100 species of plant and a breath of fresh air to prepare for the forthcoming shopping, if you still have time for that after indulging in all these non shopping pastimes!
